What has changed

Each release says what it adds and, just as plainly, what it does not do yet.

0.1.2

Assist With Animals is live at www.assistwithanimals.com, and AI apps that only read text can now see your record names and details.

3 added
  • The site is live: sign in at https://www.assistwithanimals.com, and connect your AI at https://www.assistwithanimals.com/mcp.
  • Every answer from Animals to your AI now carries the record details as text as well, so AI apps that read only text (Claude among them) can name your animals and read their details, not just count them.
  • Photos and videos upload through www.assistwithanimals.com itself, so an AI that may only talk to this site can still add files.

0.1.1

Your AI's batch saves now keep the good entries when one is wrong, and a disconnected AI can tell you why it stopped working.

3 added
  • When your AI saves several observations, species or list items at once, each one is saved or refused on its own. One mistake no longer throws away the rest, and your AI is told exactly which entry was refused and why.
  • If you disconnect an AI, it still sees one tool that explains you removed the connection and gives it the link to Settings → AI access, so it can tell you plainly instead of looking broken.
  • A connected AI can check what it is allowed to do (read, and whether writing is on) at any time.

0.1.0

First soft-launch release: Animals, Groups, Encounters, Species & Breeds, Places, Library, Documents, Lists, Queue, Preferences and the AI connection at /mcp.

10 added · 5 not yet
  • Your AI connects at https://www.assistwithanimals.com/mcp with your own sign-in, reads your records and saves its work labelled as its own.
  • Your AI proposes and you decide: identifications, same-animal links and decisions stay unconfirmed until you confirm them.
  • Your AI never archives, restores or deletes anything; those stay with you. If you disconnect it or turn writing off, it is told so plainly, with the link to Settings → AI access.
  • Location precision on every record (exact, generalised, delayed or omitted), applied whenever the record is disclosed.
  • Add photos, videos, voice notes and documents to a Queue ask as you write it. Uploads run two at a time, retry on a bad connection, and pick up again if you leave the page and come back.
  • iPhone photos arrive as JPEG with a preview. Photos too large or of an unknown type are refused before they upload, with a plain reason.
  • Every list (Table, Grid or List) remembers your view separately on your phone and your computer. Phones start in List. You can sort in every view, choose which columns show, and share a filtered list by its link.
  • Home shows three ideas for using Animals, a different three each day. Signed in, you get a new idea on each visit.
  • Your stats show how much storage your files use.
  • Export or delete your data from Settings → Your data.
  • No sharing links. To hand a record to a sitter or new keeper, copy a Document such as a handover or vet-visit packet.
  • No map view.
  • No previews for WebP, GIF or HEIC photos sent by an AI. The original is kept and opens in full.
  • Single files can be archived but not deleted. Deleting your account erases every file.
  • No reminders or notifications. The site does not watch, monitor or nudge; you or your AI come back to it.
